Starting from July 1, New Zealand prohibits shopping malls and supermarkets from providing or selling disposable plastic food bags, disposable plastic tableware and plastic straws. Merchants who violate the ban may be fined up to 100,000 New Zealand dollars (about 452,000 yuan). This "plastic ban" is another round of New Zealand's ban on plastics since the promulgation of the ban on plastics in October last year.
